Our two shops can be found in Pitlochry and Dunkeld. Both shops were recently nominated for Deli of the Year 2010 – a National Competition. The Dunkeld shop was runner up in the “Best New Deli” Category at the British Cheese Awards in September 2009. It was the only shop in Scotland to be certificated.

 

The shops contain a huge amount of produce from all over Scotland – smoked meats, cooked meats, fish, pates, jams, chutneys, cheese, chocolates, mustards, cakes, biscuits, breads and ice cream. Most are from small artisan producers that have a story to tell. We also stock a large range of traditional deli produce from all over the world to help compliment our fabulous Scottish Food. “Scotland’s Finest Produce coupled with International Delicacies.”

 

The Pitlochry shop started off on West Moulin Road – just down from the Co-op and was called “Food for Thought” – the name when we bought it. We were in this location for 5 years, slowly building local custom and reputation as well as regular visitors to Pitlochry who believe we make “The Best Sandwiches in Scotland”. We made the decision this year that the time was right to move into a more central and high profile location so the week before Easter saw us leave West Moulin Road and open on the main street next to the Post Office under our new branding.

 

The Dunkeld shop has been a Delicatessen for over 50 years under the name “Robert Menzies” and is known amongst locals and regulars as “Menzies of Dunkeld”. We were lucky to acquire this shop two and half years ago in its premiere trading position in Dunkeld on the corner of the street leading to the famous Dunkeld Cathedral. An old shop with original features and huge amounts of character, it lends itself to the wonderful sights and smells of a traditional deli. This is also where our wine range can be found – in a separate “wine room” dedicated to everyday drinking wines and a very good range of “Fine Wines”.
